Dominion to Rule. Text: James 1:22-25 [165]

Categories of dominion

  1. Your ability to rule yourself. Pro 25:28: To rule, you have to control yourself, your anger, your sexual drive, your body… 1 Cor 10:23. If you see anything that will not advance your destiny, you secede from it. Phil 4:9-12. To live a life where you are instructed, you don’t sway. People with dominion live an instructed life. Rule your minds; rule yourselves. E.g., when you set a ruler in math, it does not divert; it gives a straight line. Set a rule over your life. Prov 4:23.Rom 7:13-18.
  2. Dominion over elements: 1 Kings 17:1: Sometimes the enemy uses the elements over the children of God. Both the skies and the seas belong to man. You can have dominion. Someone shouldn’t use the sun to attack you. Psalm 121:1-5. The sun has power, but it shall not smite you by day. Jesus commanded that “peace be still,” and the Bible recorded that there was a great calm.
  3. Dominion over men: There are certain places you enter when they hear your voice, and they respect you. Men are not equal; some men are greater than others.
  4. Dominion over spirits: Matt 16:15:18—you stand as a middleman between heaven and earth, and you control spirits. Eph 2:1-4. You are sitting in heavenly places, and you have power over spirits.

How to exercise dominion

  1. Know who you are: study to show yourself approved. Know who you are. There’s a spirit in man, but the inspiration of the Almighty gives him understanding.
  2. Walk in obedience to God, because you have no right to ask for dominion when your obedience is not complete.
  3. Speak to people’s hearts. Before you embark on any serious thing in life, speak it into the atmosphere and believe it in your heart.

  • The moon will not destroy your destiny.
  • I have dominion!

Prayer

  1. Help me, Holy Spirit, in the areas of my weakness; strengthen me to overcome it. Sin shall not have dominion over me!
