The Character of the Covenant for Breakthrough -Text: Isaiah 1 :18 [165]

Note

* Life is glorious if you have what it takes. Life is beautiful if you are on God’s side. There is truly nothing to hide.

* Isaiah 1:18 God says, “Come, let us reason together.”

* If our actions carry weight and we do not do right, then our words are useless.

* Covenant is very powerful. Among other things, a covenant comes with character that holds things.

* Many people behave in the way of the covenant but do not know what they’re doing.

* Understand that satan operates with legality; satan is a legal agent.

* If you know the law, the law of nations will not hold you down.

* If you walk in certain ways, you have given the devil the right to come into your life.

* The reason a covenant is very important is because you need to be cautious.

* Every covenant has responsibilities and consequences.

  1. Character of love: this covenant does not thrive in hatred but in love. If you are not a lover, you can’t possibly walk in this covenant. You must operate in love; love is the ticket to every spiritual blessing; it converts everything. Love is a conversion currency. Love is a choice to be made by you. God first loved us, so we are reciprocating that love. 1 John 4:18-19. We do not have the ability to love him, but it our choice to love him. Love is life! And the love we have for God is revealed through obedience to his word. If you don’t obey his command, you can’t claim to love him. All of the blessedness of God is embedded in those that love him. Deu 28:1-2. Matt 6:32. John 14:23-24. Service: John 12:25-26. The second point of love for God is service. Serving God pays! The character of the covenant shows it. If you love him, you will love his word. Psalm 119:66, 165; Psalm 69:9
  2. Peace: You need something, but what he brings first is peace. Psalm 46:10. Peace with God first, then men, then yourself. When you’re under pressure, what is inside of you is what will come out, so fill your heart with good things. Col 3:16-17. Make peace with God. Make a prayer and ask God to forgive you and take the pressure away. Luke 7:36-44. Thess 5:16-18.
  3. Thanksgiving: give thanks always because thanksgiving works. Psalm 92:2. Gratitude never ascends to heaven and returns empty; it always comes back with things.
  4. Rejoice: always rejoice because you are a carrier of divinity. 1 Pet 1:16-18 vs 3-8. Joy is not determined by abundance or lack. James 1:5-7, 1 Cor 10:13.
  5. Honesty: truth is the character of the first generation; don’t lay the foundation on lies. Be truthful to God. Psalm 51:6, 3 John 3:1-4. Prayers don’t work with dishonesty. Stay in the path of truth. John 8:26, 14:6
